Violence Prevention through Urban Upgrading (VPUU): The VPUU programme is being implemented in Khayelitsha and aims to combat violent crime in the township areas of Khayelitsha. The project is financed through a bi-lateral cooperation between the German Development Bank (KfW) and the City of Cape Town and forms the basis of a case study undertaken as part of my doctoral research.
